The Magistrate, Mrs. E.N. Ojuromi, requested that Agwo ought to be kept at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility pending exhortation from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.
She dismissed the case until January 13, 2020.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Godwin Oriabure told the court that the respondent submitted the offenses at 7.30pm on October 18, at Ifako Ijaiye zone of Lagos State.
He said the respondent and his assistants, who were still everywhere, broke into the condo of the complainant, Mr. Shanyue Ding, and endeavored to hijack him for a payoff.
As per him, Ding raised an alert that pulled in his neighbors.
He said the accessories ran away, leaving the litigant, who was caught by the neighbors.
Oriabure further told the court that the litigant likewise delivered wounds in the complainant's back and hands while he was endeavoring to tie him with a rope.
The supposed offenses negate Sections 3 and 4(c) of the Kidnapping (Prohibition) Law of Lagos State, 2017, and Section 172 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Section 3 stipulates 20 years' detainment for intrigue to hijack, Section 4(c) accommodates 25 years prison term for an endeavor to seize while Section 411 conveys two years' prison term for the trick.
