Brokers, for the most part, managing in-vehicle save parts deplored as merchandise worth a huge number of naira were annihilated by the fire episode.
The Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, who was at the location of the inferno said the fire radiated from one of the few lines of shops inside the market.

He stated: "The reason for the fire is obscure as there was no power supply inside the market. No lives lost however assets were obliterated."
