Responding to the political decision, Melaye by means of his Twitter handle stated, he won the political race, including Adeyemi, remains his political spouse.
He tweeted: "The response of people of altruism all over Nigeria particularly the great individuals of Kogi west who genuinely decided in favor of me is a declaration that God is with me and with every one of us. I won the political race and Adeyemi remain my political spouse."
Talking with writers on Sunday, December 1, 2019, Adeyemi depicted Melaye as his political hireling.
He stated: "When a worker takes the article of clothing of his lord, the piece of clothing will be too enormous for the hireling… the delight of having his lord's article of clothing will make the hireling get out of hand to individuals he usually could have regarded. The larger than usual piece of clothing made Melaye act mischievously while in the senate."
