Two Internet Fraudsters Jailed In Ibadan

Justice Patricia Ajoku of the Federal High Court 1, sitting in Ibadan, on Wednesday indicted and condemned two web fraudsters to jail, in the wake of seeing them as liable of criminal allegations documented against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office. 


Onifade Gideon Idowu and Akinjobi Mumeen were summoned on a corrected charge following supplication deal concurrence with the Commission. 

The couple were brought under the steady gaze of the court on a one-tally corrected charge verging on deceitful pantomime, as opposed to Section 22(2)(b)(i) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention and so forth.) Act, 2015 and culpable under Section 22(2)(b)(iv) of a similar Act. 

They confessed to their individual charges. 

Ensuing upon the 'liable' supplication, arraignment counsel, Murtala Sa'id Usman, implored the court to sentence them as per the particulars of the request deal understanding. 

The managing judge paid attention to EFCC's petition as she saw them as liable as charged and condemned them to a half year in jail each.
