The Commander of NNS Victory, Rear Admiral Vincent Okeke, said seven suspects were captured regarding the held onto items at Agbana West Point by Tom Shot Island.
"The pontoon, group and the seized item were accompanied to the Base.
"Upon landing in the wharf, an aggregate of 432 drums of wrongfully refined AGO was offloaded from the pontoon.
"Examinations uncovered that the suspected illicitly refined AGO was stacked from Bile Creek in Rivers State and the pontoon was bound for Cameroon before capture," he said.
Proceeding, Okeke stated, "One of the suspects was captured a year ago and indicted for a similar offense and subsequent to finishing his term in prison, he returned to the wrongdoing."
He put the market estimation of the held onto item at N63,512,000.
The Deputy Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps in Cross River State, Stanley Eboh, got the held onto things and guaranteed that the presumes will be arraigned.
