Mr Durotoye made the declaration in a meeting with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos at the 2018 The Future Awards Africa in Lagos, where he was a visitor.
NAN reports that the Ibadan-conceived Mr Durotoye, an Alumnus of the John F Kennedy School of Government, is a business advisor, initiative master and persuasive orator.
On the purpose behind running for the most elevated office in Nigeria, Mr Durotoye said his goal was to speak to a generational change in the initiative structure of Nigeria, far from governmental issues.
"I have said it that I am not a lawmaker and will never be a government official. I am a country developer.
"I have dependably demanded that there is a need to remove legislative issues from administration. We require country manufacturers with the goal that we can have strategy formulators and not governmental issues.
"I think it is approaches that change the life of the general population and not governmental issues. The economy of the country is in the hands of the strategy articulators, not the government officials.
"We ought to think about those that are prepared to manufacture this nation through great strategies and turn away from the legislators who are simply to drain the nation," he said.
Mr Durotoye encouraged the electorate to pay special mind to pioneers who are dependable to push the country ahead and not the individuals who need to get to office for their narrow minded increases.
"We require legitimate individuals in administration, those that know the onions of good administration. Along these lines, in this light we have to converse with our kin at the grassroots and teach them.
