Ike Ekweremadu Reacts After Being Placed On FG 'Travel Ban List'

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, yesterday denied media report that he was on the rundown of Nigerians banished from going out of the nation on the demand of the Special Presidential Investigative Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, Vanguard has announced.

As per an announcement by Ekweremadu's Special Adviser, Media, Uche Anichukwu,

Ekweremadu, was not in court with the board or some other government office over any debasement case, including that it was the board that sued him, with the reason that he purportedly

"fail to pronounce" his benefits "in the way endorsed by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property".

An announcement yesterday by Ekweremadu's Special Adviser, Media, Uche Anichukwu, read, " the consideration of the Office of the Deputy President of the Senate has been attracted to a deceptive report by a national paper that

Senator Ike Ekweremadu has been banished from going out of the nation on the demand of the Special Presidential Investigative Panel on the Recovery of Public Property.

"For reason for illumination and accentuation, the Office wishes to rehash that Ekweremadu isn't in court with the board or some other government organization over any debasement case.

He was fairly sued by the SPIP in light of the fact that he, in the Panel's words, supposedly "fail to proclaim" his advantages "in the way endorsed by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property".

"Ekweremadu's position is that the Constitution requests each open officer to pronounce his or her resources for the Code of Conduct Bureau at regular intervals, an

arrangement he had since satisfied, consequently his refusal to fill new resource revelation frames sent to him by the board in opposition to the constitution.

"It is likewise his position that the Public Property Special Provisions Act, CAP R4 LFN, 2004, also called Decree No 3, 1984,

which the Panel depended on to charge open authorities to court has turned out to be out of date and the ability to research non-resource revelation is currently vested in the Code of Conduct Bureau by the 1999 Constitution (as altered).

Consequently, just the Code of Conduct Bureau can get resource affirmation frames from open officers."
