Agbaje Kicks As Sanwo-Olu Settles Drivers' Toll, Vows To Demolish Lekki Toll Gates

The governorship competitor of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has asked Lagosians not to be misdirected by the 'jokes' of his primary opponent, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress, who paid the toll of drivers going through the Lekki-Epe Expressway for a hour on Tuesday.

Agbaje said on Twitter that on the off chance that he was chosen representative one year from now, he would destroy the tollgate so that Lagosians could never need to pay toll along that course again.

He stated, "First the general population talked against the tolls however they weren't tuned in to. Presently they suspend the tolls for a couple of hours with the goal that they can address you, the general population, about how well they are tuning in to you. Something isn't right.

"My position has not changed. I'll scrap the tolls."

The PDP hopeful had in 2015 contended that developing a tollgate along the Lekki-Epe Expressway was unnecessary in light of the fact that the street was not worked starting with no outside help by the APC government but rather was only extended and updated.

He said the main tollgate that was reasonable was the Lekki-Ikoyi flyover which was developed over a waterway.

The then senator, Babatunde Fashola, had, be that as it may, thrashed Agbaje, blaming him for being fiscally innocent.

The Lekki Concession Company Limited which gathers the tolls had in February 2018 expanded the charges.

Business transport transports and bikes handling the Lekki-Ajah pivot pay N100 while those with e-label pay N90.

Cantina autos and tricycles pay N200 however N180 with e-tag; SUVs, scaled down vans,

light get trucks pay N400 and N360 with e-tag; non-business transports with greatest limit of 26 seats pay N1000 and N900 with e-tag; and bikes with 200cc limit or more pay N200 and N180 with e-tag.
