The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assaulted the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad requesting that he step down after the disputable Imo governorship political decision. 


The interest by the gathering comes two days after the CJN led a seven-man board of judges of the Supreme Court which managed the intrigue from the Imo State governorship political decision. 

As per Channels Television, the National Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Uche Secondus, requested that the CJN step down while responding to the judgment of the peak court during a public interview on Thursday in Abuja. 

He clarified that the resistance caused the interest so as to forestall a breakdown of lawfulness in the nation. 

Secondus stated, "In other to stay away from an impending breakdown of peace, the PDP requests that Justice Tanko Muhammad quickly ventures down as CJN and director of the National Judicial Council as Nigerians have lost trust in him and a Supreme Court under his administration." 

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court invalidated the appointment of the PDP applicant, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha, as the legislative head of Imo State. 

It, from that point, requested the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to pull back the declaration of return gave to Ihedioha and offer the same to Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Party (APC). 

The judgment has started blended responses from the decision and resistance groups, as the APC commended the triumph while the PDP dismissed the choice of the summit court. 

In his response, the PDP national director asserted that the judgment was a result of control and clear overthrow against the desire of the individuals of Imo State. 

He requested that the choice of the Supreme Court on the political race be looked into and switched in light of a legitimate concern for equity. 

Secundus likewise solicited the CJN and individuals from the board to recuse themselves from the pending petitions on Sokoto, Bauchi, Benue, Adamawa, Kano, and the Plateau States. 

"Equity Tanko must not head the board to decide the rest of the political race petitions under the watchful eye of the Supreme Court," he said. 

The PDP national administrator included, "We request that Justice Tanko Mohammed, the CJN and his associates on the Imo governorship board recuse themselves from the rest of the cases including PDP in the Supreme Court."
