The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra Command, on Friday said no setback was recorded in the tanker that consumed at Upper Iweka in Onitsha.

The state Sector Commander, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the tanker stacked with 33,000 liters of petroleum with no enrollment number, burst into flames about 2:30.a.m. on Friday.

"The tanker burst into flames because of electrical issues in the motor of the vehicle. The driver lit yelling fire! fire!!, the neighboring houses gave their best to place a shot the discharge.

"In any case, Fire administration men, FRSC authorities and the Policemen reacted immediately and the fire has been doused. No setback or damage was recorded.

"Officials of FRSC are occupying traffic and cordoning the scene to abstain from running into the cadaver and the fire administration vehicles," he said.

A comparable episode occurred on Thursday when a truck stacked with merchandise going to Enugu went into flares along UNIZIK's primary entryway, Awka-Enugu freeway about 2:30 p.m.

Kumapayi disclosed to NAN that the FRSC watch group cautioned the state fire administration which reacted and had the option to place the fire leveled out.

"The vehicle which stacked from Onitsha Main Market was making a beeline for Cameroun. The Driver, Mr. Chimezie Aneke said they were going with the administrator of the organization and two others.

"A portion of the merchandise in the vehicle included: AC gas chambers, fragrances, beauty care products, pounding machines, cleansers, and so forth.
