Governor Ajimobi Declares Intention To Run For Senate


Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, on Friday in Ibadan, reported his goal to challenge the Oyo South Senatorial seat on the stage of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
 

The representative made the declaration at the lady Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar Foundation Peace Lecture held at the Trenchard Hall of the University of Ibadan. 

"You know I am running for the Senate. Along these lines, I went to Abuja for the screening activity of our gathering and just returned yesterday,'' Ajimobi said. 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oyo South Senatorial District includes nine neighborhood governments to be specific: Ibadan South-West, Ibadan North, Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-East. 

Others are Ibadan North-East, Ido, Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa East and Ibarapa North. 

NAN reports that Ajimobi, a two-term legislative leader of the state had from 2003 to 2007 spoken to the same senatorial region in the National Assembly on the stage of Alliance for Democracy (AD). 

The representative is relied upon to challenge the ticket with Dr Fola Akinosun, while the other contender and occupant, Sen. Adesoji Akanbi, was accounted for to have dumped the APC for African Democratic Congress (ADC). 

Ajimobi at the occasion, depicted the previous Head of State, Retired Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, as a man of peace, trustworthiness and respect, saying he gave over calmly. 

The representative depicted Oyo State as a standout amongst the most tranquil states in Nigeria, including that the establishment of his organization depended on peace and security.
