Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has condemned the conduct of the Osun State governorship rerun election, describing it as a ‘show of shame.’
Fayose, in an announcement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, rejected the consequences of the strengthening survey in which the Independent National Electoral Commission pronounced the All Progressives Congress applicant, Gboyega Oyetola, as the victor.
Oyetola surveyed 255,505 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party Candidate, Ademola Adeleke, surveyed 255,023 votes.
The active Ekiti senator stated, "With the show of disgrace that occurred in last Saturday's Osun state governorship decision and the Thursday rerun, specifically, there is no other determination to make than that vote based system is presently dead in our cherished nation."
"We are in basic occasions. The Osun advantageous race was only a rehash of what occurred in Ekiti State on July fourteenth. What's more, tragically that, once more, the desire of the general population has been distorted.
"It was clear even to the visually impaired that the Osun decision, just like the case with Ekiti, was a challenge between the Peoples Democratic Party and the security offices managed by a bargained Independent National Electoral Commission."
Fayose encouraged the legal to go to bat for majority rules system for the survival of the nation.
"Hence, we need to trust that conscionable Nigerians and the survival of this nation overall are helpless before God and of the legal. Also, if the legal neglects to ascend to the event, Nigerians will be among men the most hopeless"
The Ekiti representative praised Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke for having battled a decent battle.
"You didn't lose yet your command has just been stolen," he said.
