Speaking to Stade 2 in France, Matuidi said he felt the fans "did not have the right" to whistle Neymar for taking a late penalty in the recent 8-0 home win over Dijon in Ligue 1, instead of allowing Edinson Cavani to score his 157th goal for the club -- a new all-time record tally, which he set during Saturday's win over Montpellier.
"The PSG supporters must savour Neymar," Matuidi said. "They did not have the right to whistle him.
"The fans should be happy that they have such a footballing genius playing for their team -- enjoy it!"
Matuidi also reflected on recent racial abuse he received while playing for Juve away at Cagliari and admitted that the incident "hurt" him and expressed his hope that it does not happen again during his career.
"Leaving the pitch in Cagliari? It crossed my mind," the France international said. "I was hurt and I do not want to go through that again."
