The Nigerian government has declared September 1 and 4 as public holidays to celebrate the Islamic festival of Eid-el-Kabir.
According to the council, the announcement is meant to
accordingly inform the general public and most importantly, candidates
who are registered for the examination.
Candidates are however advised to remain focused and
stick to the examination timetable provided by WAEC and ignore any rumor suggesting a change in the scheduled date or time.
There had been speculations in the public space whether or not the exams would be postponed in order to allow candidates take part in the festivities heralding the Muslim celebration.
