Muhamamdu Buhari will be joining other Muslims to participate in this
year's hajj pilgrimage as she departs Abuja for Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday,
departed Abuja for Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and will be joining millions of
Muslims to participate in this year’s hajj pilgrimage.
The development was made publicly by Aisha's spokeswoman, Zaynab Ikaz-Kassim on Twitter and said;
“This Afternoon H.E Mrs. @aishambuhari left Abuja for Mecca, Saudi
Arabia to join millions of Muslims in performing this year’s Hajj.”
No fewer than 1.705 million pilgrims, which include over 91,000
Nigerians, have reportedly arrived the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to
perform this year’s Hajj, according to Statistics released by the
Directorate General of Passports.
About 1.602 million pilgrims came by air, 87,685 by land and 14,835 by sea.
