She shocked many in the Jubilee Party stronghold after she
emerged victorious with 8760 votes defeating her closest competitor
Wilson Kiptanui of Jubilee who garnered 8354 votes.
“I took a chance as an Independent candidate and won after a difficult penniless campaign,” Muge told journalists.
The University of Nairobi graduate attributed her victory
to low key issue-based campaigns that directly targeted voters in their
homes as well as her determination despite multiple challenges.
Her friends also lent her a helping hand by using the social media, especially Facebook, to solicit votes.Muge has a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Nairobi.
