Katy Perry has revealed on Australian radio that she's had to reject multiple flirtation attempts from One Direction star Niall Horan.
Speaking to Nova FM's Fitzy and Wippa on Wednesday, the 32-year-old admitted the boy-band star is 'always trying to get my number to like, flirt with me.'
Katy discussed the awkward situation while promoting their upcoming performance on The Voice Australia and noted she was used to seeing him around 'all the time.'
The surprising information caused the hosts to joke that Niall was 'desperate' and ask: 'Is he coming on too strong?'
'No, no, no, he's got lots of pull - don't you worry about that!' she assured.
Katy initially spurred further questioning after gushing over the singer, telling the hosts: 'Niall is amazing, I love him.'
The raven-haired beauty, who was part of the X-Factor judging panel who discovered One Direction, then jokingly claimed responsibility for his success.
'I think we feel connected in a way... He’s become a big star and I’m like, "Cool, I guess that means I have taste."'
But given the age difference, the singer sees their burgeoning friendship as purely platonic, and instead set her sights on finding some local talent during her trip.
'I think I need to date an Australian or something!' she announced.
She reasoned her interest in men from down under was based on a desire to satisfy her craving for the country's traditional meat pie dish.
'I love meat pies, I'm going to go on a meat pie tour of Australia' she said, 'If I was in Australia, I'd have a pocket full of meat pies!'
