According to reports, the clash began shortly after Melaye started addressing his supporters in Lokoja.
It was during the speech when continuous gunshots were heard from the NATACO end of the Okene/Abuja road that lasted over an hour.
It was gathered that one of the supporters bearing a pump action gun was shot, but it can’t be confirmed if he died.
The exchange of the gunfire lasted for over one hour before the arrival of both the Special Adviser to the state governor, Air Commodore Jerry OModara and the State Commissioner of Police Wilson Inalevu.
