Oby Ezekwesili Blasts Buhari For Rejecting To Sign Electoral Act Amendment Bill

The Presidential Candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili has handled President Muhammadu Buhari for declining to sign Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law, portraying it as a strike on the nation's popular government.

At a question and answer session in Abuja on Monday, Ezekwesili approached the President to repeal his choice, cautioning that it was fit for destabilizing the nation.

She stated, "As a hopeful in the 2019 decision for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I have called this crisis question and answer session so as to let the world realize that President Buhari's activity is in opposition to the principles of our majority rule government."

"President Muhammadu Buhari is, accordingly, called upon to quickly reexamine his most recent, fourth, dismissal of the Electoral Amendment Bill 2018 that was transmitted to him by the National Assembly to be marked into law."

President Buhari had rejected the bill for a fourth time a week ago, saying in addition to other things that marking the bill into law so near the nation's general races may make disarray and lead the interruption of the surveys.

In a letter dated December 6, he requested that the National Assembly make a few changes in accordance with the bill and indicate that the corrections to the Act would become effective and be appropriate to decisions starting after the 2019 surveys.

Be that as it may, Ezekwesili rejected the President's purposes behind retention his consent to the bill and asked all Nigerians to do likewise.

"Women and courteous fellows, the reasons of the President for not finishing the procedure that will give Nigeria one of the soundest appointive laws on the planet is an ambush on our vote based system and must be dismissed entirely by all Nigerians," she said.

"Mr. President is perilously setting up the nation and the general population for political destabilization in 2019. Nothing of the reasons of President Muhammadu Buhari that there are watched mistakes

when he, for the fourth time, sent the bill back to the National Assembly has any particle of validity nor evidential influence for the Nigerian electorate."
