11 Soldiers Face Court Martial In Enugu

Eleven fighters are confronting preliminary in the general court military initiated yesterday by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army, Enugu, Maj-Gen Emmanuel Kabuk. 


Kabuk, who introduced the eight-part court military, said it was to impart discipline. 

He said the court military was indicating 11 warriors for different offenses going from resistance, the inadequacy of assignment and general indiscipline. 

"This General Court Martial is intended to impart discipline among the warriors and officers of the Division. 

The order is expected to accomplish tireless polished skill, which is the objective of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.- Gen. Tukur Burutai. 

Along these lines, the initiation today runs in-accordance with COAS vision to reposition the Nigerian Army for adequacy and responsiveness,'' he said. 

He guaranteed the troopers standing preliminary of reasonable hearing. 

Reacting, President of the General Court Martial, Col. Edward Abore, said that the court would maintain the Nigerian Army law and the 1999 constitution as revised. 

"I will guarantee the denounced people (officers) of equity in this court. 

In this way, I will beg the blamed not to dread or frenzy as the court will be reasonable for all gatherings included,'' he said.
