Police Breaks Silence: Why We Stopped PDP Rally In Ekiti State


The motivation behind why the proposed rally of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ado-Ekiti in front of the gubernatorial race was halted, has been uncovered by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Habila Joshak, who said it was to avert conceivable breakdown of lawfulness.


Joshak, who is the general officer of security activities for the Ekiti State governorship decision, said that no gathering will be permitted to hold any political rally not endorsed by the police until the point that the race is held, including that the PDP did not acquire police allow for the messed up rally.

 Joshak said the security points of interest of Very Important Personalities (VIPs) in Ekiti will be pulled back on Saturday to give all gatherings taking an interest in the decision a level playing field, including that no gathering will be permitted to hold any political rally not endorsed by the police until the point when the race is held.

 The DIG clarified that he will work with one Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), H.H. Karma and three different Commissioners of Police; Ali Janga, J.B. Kokumo and G.B. Umar, who will man every one of the senatorial locale in the state. 

Joshak said they have reached security points of interest of Governor Fayose and the hopeful of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi and other best government authorities to report at 6am at the police home office in Ado Ekiti on Saturday.

This decision must not be imperiled. They will be recorded and whoever challenges this will be endorsed, on the grounds that they have been reached", 

he cautioned. Joshak asked his men not to work for any political gathering, saying any cop discovered displaying such will have himself to fault.
