NMA Honors Dasuki With Award of Excellence

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Sokoto State chapter has bestowed an award of excellence on the member representing Kebbe/Tambuwal federal constituency, Hon. Abdulssamad Dasuki, for his immense contribution to health care development in the state.....

Speaking shortly after presenting the award to Dasuki at Dankani Hotel in Sokoto on Monday, the state Chairman of the NMA, Dr. Sani Abubakar, said the association deemed it necessary to honor the lawmaker in view of his efforts at improving healthcare in the state.

According to Abubakar, the lawmaker has accorded priority to provision of free drugs and medical treatment for indigent persons in the state.

He noted that Dasuki had conducted several medical programmes in Kebbe and Tambuwal Local Government Areas in the last three years while over 10,000 persons also benefited from the initiative.

“The NMA decided to honor Dasuki because of his contribution to the health sector in terms of provision of free drugs, treatment and surgery which impacted on the lives of the people especially in Kebbe/Tambuwal constituency,” he said.

Abubakar called on the lawmaker to redouble his efforts in providing succour to the people.
He urged wealthy individuals to provide support to the less privileged in the state.

Responding, Dasuki thanked the association for the gesture.
The lawmaker said the award would spur him to do more for the benefit of the people.

“I decided to give priority to health care service delivery in order to improve the living conditions of the people in my constituency,” Dasuki added.
