A Tube passenger has been charged with attempted murder after a man in his 50s was struck by a train sparking rush hour chaos.

Alan Alencar, 29, from Edinburgh, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday following the incident at Bayswater station on Thursday night.

The victim, a man in his fifties, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Following the incident the Circle and District lines were partially suspended.

They were closed between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road just after 5pm causing chaos during rush hour.

Videos taken outside the station showed fire engines and ambulances parked at the scene.
