Two Men Exposed After Buying Human Skulls From Cemetery Worker In Lagos

Three men were on Wednesday brought before a Yaba Chief Magistrates' Court, Lagos, over supposed ownership of two human skulls, NAN reports. 


The respondents, Olanrewaju, 27; Kazeem, 38; and Salami, 43, are confronting two checks of intrigue and unlawful ownership of human parts.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, told the court that the respondents submitted the offenses at 6.00 pm on November 21, 2019, along Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos. 

She told the court that the second and third respondents were trapped possessing two human skulls in dark nylon, which they had prior asserted contained rolls. 

Olaluwoye said the two respondents later admitted to having obtained the skulls from the main litigant, Olanrewaju, who was a graveyard specialist. 

She said the supposed offenses negated Sections 411 and 238 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). 

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Section 238 stipulates a 14-year prison term for unlawful ownership of the human part, while 411 accommodates two years detainment for connivance. 

The Magistrate, Mrs. S.O. Obasa, allowed the litigants bail in the entirety of N1 million each, with two sureties in like aggregate. 

She said one of every surety must be a blood connection to every litigant, and that the two sureties ought to be productively utilized. 

Obasa additionally coordinated that the sureties ought to live inside the court's purview and show proof of three years' duty installment to the Lagos State Government. 

The case was suspended until January 20, for notice.
