Nevin was driving around the Isle of Arran when he about hit a cyclist while turning a corner.
He was stunned to see that the man he about knocked off the bicycle was Abramovich.
"Around three years back I was on vacation in Arran and I was driving up the north side of Arran," Nevin said on BBC Radio Scotland.
"Each time you go on vacation there, you drive around the entire island.
"I came cycle a corner at the top just before Lochranza and I about hit a person on a bicycle.
"I just got out the path, at last, I could have executed the person. It was Roman Abramovich.
"What a story that would have been in the event that I had murdered Roman Abramovich. I simply missed him.
"His yacht was off the coast and he was cycling around.
"He doesn't know right up 'til the present time that it was me."
