The footballer made the claim about his fellow housemate during an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side, following his exit from the house on Monday 3 September.
Ryan had previously been embroiled in controversy when Roxanne Pallett accused him of punching her in the ribs during a play fight.
Despite supporting Ryan over the allegations in the house, Jermaine surprised viewers when he explained how Ryan plays up for the cameras.
"I think he [Ryan] has got a game plan, because he made that clear to us.
"Because we were saying, 'Ryan, you're not yourself,' and he'd say, 'Oh, you'll see me when I get out'."
"He's being reserved, he's acting up at the right times," the former CBB star continued to comment.
Shocked by Jermaine's claims, CBBBOTS host Rylan Clark-Neal exclaimed: "Well that is a new angle!"
Meanwhile, Ryan was seen breaking down in tears in the house after he received a letter from his brother Scott.
Having asked Sally Morgan to read out the note from his younger brother, Ryan couldn't contain his emotions as the former Love Island star explained how proud everyone was of him.
Referring to Roxanne's allegations against him, he added: "You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Everyone has seen the real you.”
