While viewers were shocked by this decision to quit the show, Rufus has revealed that Celebrity Big Brother star Kim Woodburn was behind his decision to go.
Kim hit headlines last week when she was involved in a dramatic argument with Coleen Nolan on Loose Women, a row which sparked over 3,500 complaint to OfCom.
During filming for what would be Rufus' final Celebrity Juice, in scenes that were never aired, Rufus, 37, ended up in a super awkward row with the How Clean Is Your House star.
Rufus revealed that Kim was speaking to Keith about upcoming work, revealing she wasn’t sure if she was wanted on TV anymore, vut Rufus decided to joke with her, something that completely backfired and led to his departure.
Kim apparently hit back at him: "When I want an opinion of a fat man, I’ll stand outside Gregg’s.”
Speaking of the insult, insisting he hadn't meant anything by his own comment, Rufus said it was "a proper f**k you, an old-fashioned f**k you."
Things are then said to have "spiralled out of control", with Rufus claiming Kim was getting "deliberately personal" so he was back.
He said: "It ended up really horrible. She was trying to be deliberately personal, and by the point it got to that place, I was like, 'OK, because I'm a stand-up comedian and if you want to start heckling, I'm good at this.'
"And so I was personal back. She basically kept saying I was fat. But I did end up saying, 'that’s a bit rich coming from a woman who looks like a face drawn on a deflating party balloon'."
Confessing he was told to take a fortnight off, Rufus instead quit the show adding: “"They had this sense of, I should be grateful of being on this big hit show, but what they never understood was, the thing I set out in comedy wasn't about being on a show like Celebrity Juice.”
Celebrity Juice is set to return laster this month for its 20th series, with Danny Dyer set to appear alongside his daughter Dani Dyer and her Love Island boyfriend Jack Fincham.
