Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has engaged the Federal Government to desperately intercede in the Erosion that cut off communities in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the state.
Ikpeazu decided on Thursday while reviewing the chasm disintegration site in Ugwuabaa-Mgbelu Umunnekwu people group in the committee region.
The senator said that it was relevant for the government to speed up activity in the execution of Erosion control measures in the zone including that the destinations represented a tremendous hazard to the network.
"I went through this street half a month back and I utilized this specific channel. Tragically that the street is totally gone and the network is isolated.
"It is appalling and it is bad to the point that vehicles can dive into the ravine. You can see that the chasm is up to 15 meters down. That ought not to be underestimated. We will complete a couple of things as a palliative.
"The level of obliteration made by the disintegration is past what Abia Government can deal with. We will draw the consideration of the Ecological Funds Office to it quickly, "he said.
Ikpeazu included that the state government would make a redirection on the two sides of the disintegration site, which would start from 200 meters from the site to reduce the anguish of the general population.
Prior, Chief Aham Uko, Commissioner for Environment focused on the need to found a long haul measure which would give an enduring answer for the natural test.
