The Emmerdale and Loose Women star recently announced she was engaged to her partner, Al – but their plans to have children together have been dashed after her IVF treatment was unsuccessful.
However, the Honesty Diet writer confessed that she had come to terms with not having children, accepting that in her case "it's not meant to be".
"I think I was in the situation where the world and their mother were going, 'You've got the perfect body, what's next?'"
Lisa added that while she wanted children, she was concerned about bringing them into the world given the fact her own mother died young.
"I never wanted to do that to a child of mine. I love my life in the sense of I can be that person who says 'You know what, it's OK not to have a child'."
The TV star has gone through an impressive weight loss journey, losing a whopping 12 stone and releasing her own book to help fans follow in her footsteps – however, she claimed that many people simply assumed the next step in her life was to have a baby.
"I'm 42 – I don't think I'm ever going to have the fairytale Bridget Jones. I realise it's not meant to be and I'm fine with that.
"As women we're not just baby-making machines. I'm proud to be that woman in the public eye that says it's OK."
Lisa's decision not to try for a baby comes after she got engaged to partner Al in May after three years of dating in secret.
