Gordon Ramsay Pans Stephen Colbert’s Grits: ‘It’s Like Someone’s Puked’

No one is immune from Gordon Ramsay’s wrath when it comes to his cooking critiques – not even Stephen Colbert.....

The celebrity chef, who was a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday, July 9, took one look at a photo of some food Colbert had prepared for his bandleader, Jon Batiste, and couldn’t hide his displeasure for even a moment.

While the late-night host described his dish as a bowl of “shrimp and grits with a shrimp gravy and two bacon bunny ears,” 51-year-old Ramsay was quick to say the entree, which got glowing praise from Batiste, looked “terrible.”

“It’s like someone’s puked in that,” the MasterChef Junior host added. “It’s got, like, two fingers up … In the U.K., when someone gives you two fingers, it’s not pleasant.”

Even as Colbert tried to defend his take on the Southern staple, Ramsay was quick to tell him the presentation was “lacking.”

However, the Scottish chef, who is also the host of a new restaurant-centric show called Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, wasn’t just picking on Colbert for the fun of it. In fact, he even offered up some suggestions on how the 54-year-old could make his grits more appealing.

“I would make it a bit more creamy,” Ramsay said of Colbert’s “dull” dish. “I’d whip some butter in there at the end, grate some Parmesan cheese and just make it look a bit sexy.”

Considering Ramsay also regaled Colbert with a story about how he once cooked an “amazing lunch” for Russian President Vladimir Putin and then-Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair, Colbert would probably be wise to listen to his advice!
