The president commissioned the first phase of the Abuja Metro Rail Station, which makes it the first light rail system in West Africa.
As at 2014, the first phase of the project was at 50% and 7 years after it has been commenced.
It took Nigeria 11 years to build 45.245km rail line running between the Namdi Azikiwe International Airport to Abuja Metro Station to Idu station, the project faced delays though.
The first stage of the project covers 12 stations within the metropolis.
The Abuja Metro's Airport Station commercial services will commence on Monday.
