However before marrying Prince William in April 2011, Kate, whose real name is Catherine much to the confusion of fans, had a very different life.

Fans often wonder about where Kate is from, and her life started at The Royal Berkshire hospital on January 9 1982. Compared to the royals, Kate had a relatively normal yet privileged family life, growing up in Berkshire with mum Carole, dad Michael and siblings Pippa and James Middleton.

Her parents set up family business Party Pieces, which provided the income to accelerate their lifestyle to afford the finer things in life. Kate grew up in Chapel Row, a village in between Newbury and Reading, Berkshire, and attended St Andrew's private school before boarding at Marlborough College.
