HK Taxis Can Now Accept Alipay

Ant Financial has announced that taxicabs in Hong Kong are now accepting Alipay, reports Xinhua....

Dozens of cabs are now linked to Alipay. Users can scan the QR codes for either Alipay or Alipay Hong Kong.

Most of Hong Kong's taxicabs will be set up with QR codes in November.

Li Yongshi, General Manager of Alipay Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan says establishing e-payments was difficult to introduce as taxis in Hong Kong are privately run. But cooperation between Alipay and Hong Kong mobile payment developer YedPay and Valoot has made it possible.
