Though suffering from the hyperemesis gravidarum that plagued her previous pregnancies, the Duchess looked immaculate as ever in a blue lace Temperley dress with flouncy cuffs and neck tie.
The Duchess arrived with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry via a hidden door in the Palace's White drawing room, and mingled with the 350 guests, including Mind president and comedian Stephen Fry. In a speech, Prince William praised his wife for coming up with the genesis of the trio's own mental health initiative, Heads Together, which launched last year:
"It was Catherine who first realised that all three of us were working on mental health in our individual areas of focus. She had seen that at the core of adult issues like addiction and family breakdown, unresolved childhood mental health issues were often part of the problem."
A royal aide at the event told press, "The Duchess's condition is improving but she's still suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. She's delighted to be here tonight." It is thought that her turn in Temperley does not signify a return to royal duties, though her work continues to have an impact from afar. Last week, the trio announced they had donated $2.7 million to a digital startup that aims to tackle mental problems, and the Duchess launched her "You’re Never Too Young to Talk Mental Health" campaign via video link in September.
