The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing....

A total of 2,287 delegates elected from across China are to attend the Congress.

The CPC National Congress, held every five years, sets the agenda for national development for the following five years. It also allows for new leadership of the Party to take up various positions.
