She's has had many of an iconic moment on the red carpet during her time in the spotlight, including arriving to the Grammys in an egg.

Yet, the latest tribute to Lady Gaga, 31, and her fashion has gone down like a lead balloon on social media as a Peruvian museum unveiled a new wax figure of the popstar in her infamous meat dress from 2010's MTV Video Music Awards.

The new waxwork showcased the Born This Way songstress with long peroxide blonde hair and a sharp fringe which attempted to successfully dip dye her locks with purple to match her red carpet look.

Sporting angular facial features, the wax figure modelled a longer face shape and pointed nose compared to the singers actual characteristics.

Continuing the bizarre appearance, the museum - which is based in the country's capital Lima and displayed the model for the first time last week - carefully crafted the figure to have an oddly single toned arm.

The peculiar wax figure was shared by Twitter user and Lady Gaga fan Tobey Monster on social media and has since been retweeted over 1300 times.

Since going live on social media, fans of the US popstar have flooded online feeds with hilarious memes and commentary about the odd statue, comparing it to looking like Iggy Pop, Donatella Versace and Harry Potter's house elf Dobby.
