A man dubbed the 'Human Ken doll' has paid $21,000 to replace his back implants - bringing his total plastic surgery costs to more than $500,000.

Justin Jedlica, 36, from Los Angeles, California, has had more than 550 cosmetic procedures, including bicep surgeries, bum implants and five nose jobs.

His latest operation saw him go under the knife to have a set of 'wing' implants that were inserted below his shoulder blades in 2015 replaced with a smaller version.

Justin, who custom-designed the implants, also had a vein in his forehead removed.

'I conceptualised the surgery. I designed the implants. Everything healed well, it just ended up being a little bit big.

'I'm having a revision on my latissimus implants. Those are the wings on your back and I'm having one of my teres implants moved just for symmetry. I'm also having one on my forehead vein cut, tied off and bladed.'

To make sure his implants were perfect this time, this long design process took five sample implants and two different implant companies to get it right.

Justin said: 'The first step that we are going to undertake is removing the current latissimus implants. That means they have to make a cut underneath in my armpit.

'The doctor won't be able to just take them out like a normal implant because they are so large and they are actually hook shaped.

'What we will have to actually do is take them and pull them in sections or cut them out in sections and use tongs or his hands to go down my back and pull these pieces out until he gets all of the pocket cleaned out and that implant out of my body.'

Luckily for the real-life Ken Doll, he has a great support system of friends and family that stands by his plastic surgery adventures - even if his look gets him a lot of stares and criticism.

Justin said: 'My friends are amazing with my plastic surgery actually. I think they enjoy the fact that it's little bit of being non-conformist and speaking out against the typical norms of what western culture dictates as beautiful.
'It's sort of like, the haters keep hating and I stay famous. I become more famous. So at the end of the day my friends all stick by me.'

His mother Tanya Marsik, from Atlanta, Georgia, is his biggest fan and has come to terms with her son's passion for body modification.

Tanya said: 'I am really proud of all the surgeries that Justin had done.

'In the beginning, it was a little bit scary I guess because It's hard to see your son go under general anaesthesia and you never know what is going to happen, but he picks the doctors and he is very selective, he is very smart in what he does.

'Do I ever fear that he might take it too far? He has already taken it kind of far. I never thought it would go this far.'

Justin's procedure list includes chest, back, cheek, buttock implants along with four shoulder surgeries, three bicep surgeries, various lipo surgeries, five nose surgeries, and an eyebrow lift.

However his plastic surgery wishlist continues to grow and he has no plans to stop with his obsession for transformation any time soon.

Justin said: 'I love the ability to be able to design and brand my body.

'I never thought I would be able to live in West Hollywood in a multimillion dollar home. I attribute a lot of that to the confidence and self-esteem that I got from plastic surgery.

'I chose to look a specific way and it may not be the way everybody else thinks is typically beautiful. But I find it beautiful and that's really all that matters at the end of the day.'
