"Founder of the brand Sophie Albou bought the stores from the former local distributor so they are no longer a franchise, hence the recent closures," a spokesperson for the label explained. "This is a natural and strategic move for the brand in order to concentrate on the business in the UK, now the brand's second top market."
The French company, established in 1995, has acquired and rejuvenated the Knightsbridge, Chelsea and Covent Garden stores to bring them in line with the label's image and ethos - and founder Albou will attend the store openings, set to take place this week.
