Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles' striker, continued his title-winning form for Napoli at the weekend, scoring two goals to give the Serie A leaders a 13-point lead in the battle for the Scudetto.
Napoli defeated Spezia 3-0, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scoring twice. On the Italian Riviera, Kvaratskhelia put Napoli ahead from the penalty spot two minutes after the break, before Osimhen scored twice, bringing his league tally to 13.
In the 68th minute, Osimhen capitalized on a defensive blunder to double Napoli's lead, and five minutes later, he rolled in an easy finish after Mattia Caldara passed straight to Kvaratskhelia on the outskirts of his own area.
"All victories are essential; we need to maintain momentum and attempt to win all games," Osimhen told Sky Italia.
"It is not going to be simple of course, Serie A is a very difficult league and we have to be on top of our game. The most important thing is that we go back and prepare for the next game," he remarked.
Osimhen closed the day on a high note after entering the Stadio Picco bleachers to apologize to a female fan he hit with an off-target pre-match drill shot.
The 23-year-old hugged the woman and posed for photographs before continuing Napoli's seemingly unstoppable title chase.
"I suppose she was looking at her phone when the ball hit her in the face, and I felt really bad because I didn't plan to do that," Osimhen explained.
"I had to express my gratitude and apologize."

side made it 13 points ahead by the end of yesterday, as
Inter Milan defeated ailing champions AC Milan in the late fixture of yesterday.
Spezia remain in 17th place, five points ahead of Verona, who are just outside the relegation zone.
