Anthony Joshua, the British heavyweight boxer, will make his comeback on April 1 against American fighter Jermaine Franklin in London's O2 Arena.
This will be Joshua's first fight in nearly seven years without a world title on the line, following his unification of the WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles between 2016 and 2018.
His winning streak, however, ended in 2019 when he was defeated in New York by Andy Ruiz.
Despite recovering his titles later that year against Andy Ruiz, Joshua has only won one fight since, a victory over Kubrat Pulev in 2020.
In 2021, he was defeated at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine, who outboxed and outpointed him.
Joshua will enter the ring with a new coach, Derrick James, and a renewed desire to win.
Franklin, on the other hand, seems unfazed and hopes to create a stir. He stated on social media that the judges will not be needed to choose the winner on April 1.
The American has declared that he does not box and that he intends to defeat Joshua.
