Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River has introduced the 2018 Calabar Carnival dry raced to mean the beginning of the yearly celebration.
Talking after the function in Calabar on Sunday, Ayade who was spoken to by his Deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu, said that the festival denoted the fourteenth commemoration of the fair.
The representative, who unveiled that the subject of the 2018 jamboree is `Africanism`, portrayed the fair as `the biggest road party in Africa.'
He said that the jamboree had advanced ability and imagination, including that it likewise joined the general population of Cross River and Nigeria as a rule.
"Today, we are hailing off the fourteenth yearly Calabar jamboree, the biggest road party ever; the best show in Africa.
"So much has been done to exhibit what the subject is about. The time has desired Africa to be of an age where the dark man is viewed as an image of uprightness.
