The X Factor returned to screens on Saturday night with a brand new panel of judges including Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Louis Tomlinson.....

One auditionee who was hoping to impress the stars was singer Danny Tetley who, ahead of his performance, had revealed his previous link to head judge Simon.

Fans were left delighted on Saturday night when Danny made it through his first audition with a yes from all four judges.

Danny Tetley is a 37 year old singer who currently resides in Benidorm, Spain, but is originally from Yorkshire.

The star was born with a cleft palate and harelip and has worked as a singer and teacher in the past.

Danny auditioned for the very first series of Pop Idol 17 years ago, a singing competition which had Simon Cowell, Nicki Chapman, Neil Fox and Pete Waterman on the judging panel.

During his 2001 audition, Danny performed Anastasia's I'm Outta Love, but was given a no by Simon, a rejection with Simon has now apologised for on The X Factor.
