Disaster struck in Nkwerre in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday night after shooters killed a Catholic cleric and carried off his vehicle.
The shooters similarly killed a young fellow whose personality couldn't be found out promptly.
A local of the network told our reporter on Tuesday morning that the cleric, recognized as Rev Fr. Jude Egbuom, was until his demise accountable for St Patrick's Catholic Parish, Amucha, in the Njaba LGA of the state.
He hailed from Umuwala, a town in Nkwerre Community.
He was assaulted around 8pm when he went to a hairstyling salon's on Anara-Nkwerre Road in Nkwerre town.
He supposedly opposed giving the auto keys to his executioners, which maddened them.
The priest was quickly shot together with the other casualty in his vehicle ,while the culprits fled.
The man was said to be with the minister in his vehicle when the lawbreakers struck.
A local of the network stated, "The conditions encompassing the slaughtering of the minister demonstrated that it was an instance of equipped burglary.
"It couldn't have been an instance of death, who did the delicate minister outrage? He was from our locale, Nkwerre and was doing his evangelist work at Njaba, an adjacent LGA. "
Whenever reached, the police representative, Andrew Enwerem, affirmed the killings and said that the police chief, Dasuki Galadanchi, had conveyed the Tactical Unit of the summon in the region.
The police representative stated, "The occurrence is affirmed. Rev Fr.Jude Egbuom of St Patrick's Catholic ward Amucha was killed the previous evening.
