But the biggest twist came when she secretly visited Alfie Moon and told him that she was pregnant with their child after a brief fling in Spain.

Having been able to keep her news from the rest of the Slater family, including Alfie's wife Kat, so far, that will all change over the next few months.

A new trailer showcasing the biggest storylines of the summer shows Hayley saying out loud: "I’m pregnant with a married man’s baby," before she's seen cradling her growing baby bump in the bathroom.

As the clip goes on to warn viewers to "expect storms", Kat, played by Jessie Wallace, can be seen declaring: "You’re one vicious little cow."

While the exact details of the fallout have yet to be revealed, the Metro reported an EastEnders spokesperson saying: "Time is ticking for the newest Slater – Hayley’s bump grows as do the Slaters’ suspicions.

"Secrets have a nasty habit of revealing themselves in Albert Square so it’s only a matter of time before the time bomb explodes…"

Meanwhile, Shane Richie recently hinted that fans will find out a lot more about Hayley over the next few weeks and months.
