The 37-year-old vocalist opened up to People Magazine about the commitment on Thursday saying, "we couldn't contain this any more".
Williams met the minister and holistic mentor in March 2017 at an otherworldly withdraw subsequent to leaving a relationship "that didn't end well".
Both the vocalist and the minister say they were in a "frightful, dull place" when they met.
"When we met, the two of us were in fundamentally the same as spots on an individual level," said Johnson.
"Michelle was falling off the foot rear areas of an extremely awful relationship, and I was simply in a position of despondency too."
Johnson popped the inquiry March 21, about a year after they initially met and Williams said they need to "get hitched, soon".
The vocalist stated: "I didn't advise individuals I was conversing with Chad.
"I needed to treat this relationship distinctively in light of the fact that clearly all my past connections have fizzled. I would not like to discuss another relationship that conceivably wasn't going to go anyplace."
Williams as of late rejoined with Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé amid the last's notable Coachella set.
