Riyad Mahrez Refuses to Report to Training Says He is Depressed as Manchester City Deal Failed

Riyad Mahrez failed to report to Leicester training on Thursday after his move to Manchester City fell through.
The 26-year-old handed in a transfer request on deadline line after Pep Guardiola’s side tabled a £65 million bid.

The Algerian international had signed a long-term deal at the Kings Power Stadium after the Foxes’ title winning campaign in 2016 but handed in a transfer request the following summer.

Roma, Arsenal and Inter were all interested in securing his services but failed to follow through with bids.

The Premier League leaders moved for Mahrez after Leroy Sane was ruled out for two months but it is unclear whether City may return for the winger this summer.
