The Department of Petroleum Resources,
Bayelsa State Office, has warned that the organization will continue to
sanction any petroleum marketer in the state ripping customers off by
selling above the approved pump price.
The DPR reiterated that the depot price
of petrol remained N133 per liter contrary to claims by marketers that
they were buying the product at a cost higher than the approved pump
price.
The DPR was reacting to complaints by some users of the product that they were buying a liter of petrol above N200.
The State Controller, DPR in Bayelsa
State, Mrs. Ejiro Ufondu, explained that the depot price of petrol was
N133, saying that enforcement officials had always made sure that
customers in the state were not short-changed by greedy marketers.
Ufondu told journalists in Yenagoa, the
state capital, on Friday, that the DPR was on daily patrol to ensure
that marketers did not cut corners in the sale of petrol.
