Truck Crushes Imo Police Officer On Stop-And-Search Duty To Death

A truck on Wednesday killed a cop on a stop-and-search along Owerri-Okigwe turnpike in Imo State. 

The episode which happened at Atta in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state caused alarm in the zone. 

At the point when The PUNCH visited the location of the occurrence, other cops were seen at the spot and a substantial gridlock had developed on the freeway as individuals flooded to the area of the episode. 

The inert body of the cop was seen on the ground yet weapon using cops didn't permit spectators to approach. 

A trailer and different vehicles were seen around the location of the occurrence yet it was not clear as of the hour of recording this report if the truck that killed the cop was among those left at the scene. 

A driver disclosed to The PUNCH that a rock solid truck slaughtered the official after the cop had waved at it to stop. 

He said that the trailer which was on a speed path slammed into the cop who was out and about. 

He stated, "A truck squashed him after he waved to it and the driver wouldn't stop. The person in question, who was on a stop-and-search obligation with his associates, were on the fundamental street. Other cops pursued the executioner truck driver however I don't know whether they had the option to get him. This is shocking. 

When reached, the police representative in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said that the direction had been imparted. 

He stated, "We have quite recently been told. I am simply hearing it. Important activity has been enacted by the order. The order is disheartened by the tragic advancement."
