The judge ruled that Metuh could not prove that the N400m transferred to his account and that of his firm, Destra Investments Limited, was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 general elections.
Metuh had argued that the money was sent to him by the former president for the 2015 election campaign but the Federal High Court in its ruling said that Metuh should have known that the N400m were proceeds of an unlawful activity.
Activist, Deji Adeyanju, says the implication of this judgement is that anyone who receives money for any transaction is liable is they do not investigate the source of the money.
