Two Nigerians, Lebanese Arraigned Over Human Trafficking

A Lebanese and two Nigerians were on Monday charged under the watchful eye of a Federal High Court, Ilorin by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, for asserted dealing of Nigerian ladies to Lebanon, for misuse. 


The arraignment of the presumes was an aftermath of the examination concerning the much-promoted instance of Omolola Ajayi, who was dealt to Lebanon. Ajayi's video circulated around the web via web-based networking media scarcely any weeks prior, and she was hence saved and taken back to Nigeria. 

The suspects, Mohammed Wafic Hamze, 62, Adetunji Taofeek Sanusi,34 and Tunde Awwal, 27, who were arrainged before has charged Justice B. G Ashigar, were pummeled with a three-check charge which troubled on Human Trafficking/Foreign Travel which Promotes Prostitution or different types of Exploitation as per Section 18 and 27 (an) and (b) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015. 

The case was at first moved to the Agency by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) after which the three suspect were captured. 

As indicated by the Oshogbo Zonal Commander of NAPTIP, Mr. Saadu Mustpha, further examination uncovered that in opposition to the underlying report, around 16 exploited people were accepted to have been dealt to the Middle East Countries by the suspects out of which just three have been saved through the coordinated effort of Civil Society association, Nigeria Embassy and different accomplices. 

The three respondents argued not blameworthy to the charges and were therefore remanded at the authority of the Nigeria Correctional Center, Ilorin while the case was dismissed to 26th February, 2020 for the initiation of the preliminary.
